The Legacy Classic Golf Tournament is named in TJ Tomeny’s honor, because he personified the traits that Legacy seeks to instill in its students. TJ always displayed Christ-like character, perseverance, academic excellence, and most of all, a great attitude. TJ was also a gifted athlete. This golf tournament was named for him to honor his memory and his many God-given talents on the field of competition.
All of the proceeds from the TJ Tomeny Legacy Classic go directly to benefit the Annual Fund at LCA. The Annual Fund provides mission enhancements to LCA along with providing Christian education to Christian families that otherwise may not have access.
Thomas Joseph Tomeny IV was born on February 15, 1991, in Rockwall, Texas. TJ went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2005, after a 3½ year struggle with a brain tumor. While he battled his disease, he never lost his sense of humor or his desire for excellence.
